Jerusalem Lives seeks to shed light on the lived experience in present-day Jerusalem and to explore the city as an example of a place that witnessed the emergence and collapse of globalisation, simultaneously probing the hardships imposed by the Israeli occupation.
The catalogue features the artworks and art collections, installations, publications, posters, and audio installations presented in the main exhibition. It’s comprised of five sections that study the phenomena of globalisation from an economic, political, ideological, and cultural standpoint. The catalogue also includes 17 globally commissioned artworks installed in the gardens and outdoor spaces of the museum, as well as a review of the museum’s civic contributions to several Jerusalemite institutions through its Public Programme.
