Tea and Embroidery with Grandma
Saturday, July 28 | 18:00 - 19:45
Let’s enjoy mint tea prepared with fresh-cut mint from the Museum garden. We shall sit on the outdoor terrace and embroider with skillful women while enjoying the summer breeze at the sunset. Tita (grandma) will be ready to teach you the basics of embroidery and for those of you who are already proficient, why not take this opportunity to enhance your skill. Let’s enjoy Tita’s stories and join her on an oral and visual journey to the very essence of embroidery. Let’s listen to how our grandmothers invented this art at the end of the nineteenth century and imagine the inspired industry of their busy fingers. We will experience how embroidery created a social space within which people could meet, talk and enjoy spending time together.
