Family Day: Olive Harvest
Friday, October 14th | 10:00 - 14:00
Location: the Palestinian Museum
Ages: 5+
Every autumn, Palestinian families celebrate the olive season. The season is an inspirational collective festivity that represents a renewed connection to the land. Olive trees are a basic component of the Museum gardens and the community’s social fabric. Let’s experience this season together with an olive harvest!
The Palestinian Museum invites you to join us on a Palestinian awnah day (a day of mutual community aid) full of land-related adventures. Together we will enjoy an asrona, a traditional light afternoon brunch. The manakeesh (flatbreads), shrak bread, and za’atar (wild thyme) served will evoke for us the spontaneity of the land and the harvest season. We will drink tea and coffee on the terrace overlooking the Museum gardens and enjoy the scene before us. Afterwards, we will find the olive trees to pick their fruits, engage in conversation, and feel the value of collective work.
Participating in the olive harvest event is free of charge. For organisational purposes, please register in advance by contacting the following email: activities@palmuseum.org
