The Palestinian’s groundbreaking 2018 “Labour of Love” exhibition explored Palestinian embroidery (tatreez) through the lenses of gender, class, labour market dynamics and its resulting commodification. The exhibition traced the shift of tatreez from an individual practice made with love, to a national symbol, to a product circulating in international markets.

Through 3D VR glasses, the Palestinian Museum will now take you on a tour of the exhibition by narrating two stories inspired by the exhibition: The embroidered heritage dresses (thobes) of the First Intifada; and tatreez as practised by men in the Occupation prisons.

The VR equipment will be made available between Monday, May 16th to Thursday, May 19th for limited hours. Join us at the exhibition, grab a pair of VR glasses and embark on a unique journey of exploration through the exhibition. A copy of the exhibition catalogue will be available for purchase
