Don’t miss the chance to join the tour of our Intimate Terrains exhibition with Dr. Tina Sherwell. Together we will explore a long history of representations of Palestinian landscape and its topographical changes over the years relating to political, social and environmental transformations from an artistic perspective, where landscape has been, and remains, an essential part of Palestinian cultural practices. In a complex and charged context about the Palestinians' relationship to their land, the exhibition explores how landscapes was represented by Palestinian artists over the decades in order to raise personal and collective questions and interpretations of Palestinians’ relationship to place and their dreams and visions of the landscape.
Dr. Sherwell has carried out an expansive and intensive research on Palestinian art and visual culture and has produced numerous texts on the works of many Palestinian artists. Throughout this exhibition, Dr. Tina Sherwell will share with us her academic research allowing for a new and comprehensive understanding of the history of contemporary Palestinian art and its relationship to land and location.
