Social History of Gaza under British Colonial Rule
Presented by Dr. Abaher Al-Saqqa

Tuesday, December 17th | 15:00 – 17:00
Location: The Palestinian Museum
Language: Arabic

Join us for an exploration of Gaza's social history during British colonial rule, presented by Dr. Abaher Al-Saqqa, based on his extensive study of the subject. He will share insights into key questions: How do we interpret Gaza’s history from a social perspective? Should we chronicle Gaza by examining South Palestine's history, or by exploring the district of Gaza in its historical contexts? Can we read Gaza today through its status as a besieged sector? Dr. Al-Saqqa will also discuss how artworks by Gazan artists reflect the city’s historical, social, and political contexts. How do these works narrate the ordinary, daily lives of its people? How can we perceive "life achievements" amidst extermination? And can art carry the unparalleled suffering of Palestinians in our history?
