Open Call to Participate in an Art Workshop with artist Tayseer Barakat: Wood and Fire
Sunday & Monday, September 28 & 29, 9:00
Target group: Emerging artists, fine arts graduates, and fine arts students
Location: the Palestinian Museum
The Palestinian Museum is pleased to invite you to a unique art workshop with one of Palestine’s leading contemporary artists, Tayseer Barakat, accompanied by artist Ma’moun Shreiteh. This workshop is part of a series held alongside the exhibition “New Visions”.
The workshop is aimed at emerging artists and art students, drawing inspiration from Barakat’s distinctive practice and experience with wood-burning techniques, where material intersects with visual and symbolic memory. Participants will embark on a creative journey that transforms wood into works carrying historical and social resonance.
Applications open on Monday, September 1st, and close on Saturday, September 20th. Only selected participants will be contacted.
Seats are limited. If needed, an additional third day will be held on Tuesday, September 30th, dedicated to finalizing the artworks. The workshop will conclude with an exhibition of participants’ works, with the date to be set in agreement with them.
The workshop begins at 9:00 am and continues into the afternoon. Participants may take their works home if necessary and may leave once they have completed their required part. Attendance on all workshop days is a strict requirement for acceptance.
