Birzeit, 23 October, 2024 – Today, the Palestinian Museum welcomed a delegation from the Mariam Foundation, as part of the "October - Life 2024" tour, aimed at raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The tour also highlighted the suffering of cancer patients in Gaza. The delegation included more than 50 people, comprising doctors, partners from the "Mariam Doctors" project and Al-Mutlaa Hospital.
The visit’s program included brief speeches on the importance of early detection; emphasizing the terrible situation facing cancer patients in Gaza, particularly women who struggle to access healthcare amidst the destruction of hospitals, and the scarcity of resources due to the ongoing war and siege on Gaza.
The event also included a symbolic stand in which Mariam Foundation team displayed banners and messages from Gaza's cancer patients, sending a message of solidarity while drawing attention to their suffering. The Palestinian Museum team participated in the event, reaffirming their support for this vital humanitarian cause and their commitment to shedding light on the challenges that Palestinian women face in Gaza and throughout Palestine.
The "October - Life 2024" tour began at the Mariam Foundation Center and will continue with visits to several stations in Ramallah, Nablus, and Jerusalem, with the aim of spreading awareness and support for cancer patients throughout Palestine.
