The symposium sheds light on the political and cultural space inside the 1948 Occupied Territories in general, and the coastal cities in particular. It focuses on the history of political and cultural work through exploring the history of political and cultural movements that occurred in the coastal cities. It analyzes the relationship between political and cultural work, and examines the nature of the relationship between them through addressing a variety of questions: Is cultural work political in principle? Can we draw a line between cultural and political practices? How can cultural work become synonymous with the political identity?
