Homeland Spring: Garden Tour and Creative Workshop

Friday, 9 May | 16:00 – 19:00
Location: The Palestinian Museum

Trees and plants constantly renew themselves—nothing compares to their ability to be reborn. Trunks grow sturdier, roots deepen, and branches bloom again with leaves and fruit. In Palestine, trees and plants resemble our lives: in their harshness, resilience, and in their everlasting greenness.

What do you think about joining us in a conversation about spring, and how resilience blossoms from the land? We will learn about geography, explore the connections between nature and art, and stroll through the gardens of the Palestinian Museum. Along the way, we will observe Gaza’s lilies, Bethlehem’s olives, Ramallah’s cypress trees, Galilee’s indigo (Neila), and the Iris of Faqoua. We will speak of the land and breathe in the scent of soil returning from Jaffa.

The museum garden is open throughout May for families to enjoy, and all tours and workshops are free.

The day also features an interactive children’s workshop titled “Where Am I From?”, through which
Children will be introduced to a large magnetic map of Palestine and invited to locate and mark their cities. Then, together, we will recreate the map and decorate it with drawings of plants inspired by the museum gardens, reflecting the ecological diversity of Palestine’s cities and landscapes.
