In 1997, members of the Taawon - Welfare Association initiated the establishment of a Palestinian Museum to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Nakba; it would do so by documenting the catastrophe that marked the modern history of Palestine. With time, the conception of the museum widened to become an institution that celebrates Palestine’s history, society, and culture.
