Volunteer with the Palestinian Musuem

Volunteers offer vital support to the work of the Palestinian Museum in many different ways.
Volunteering with us means giving your time and energy; it also means acquiring new skills during the learning/training process and being open to museum-based work and all that entails. As a result, engaged volunteers are given the opportunity to develop specialised capabilities they can continue to build on in their careers.

Volunteering opportunities

Department teams interested in recruiting volunteers will directly contact and interview applicant volunteers.
Please note, and accept our apologies in advance, that not all qualified volunteer applicants may be offered opportunities due to limited positions. The Museum is not liable in this matter.
We request that you review the following volunteer opportunities to understand the requirements of each department and decide which opportunities best intersect with your interests and qualifications.
We also request that you indicate in the application form a maximum of two programmes or departments for which you prefer to volunteer.

Volunteers who are experienced with photography will be given the opportunity to photograph various events and activities. These photographs will be used on the Palestinian Museum’s website and social media platforms. All will be credited to the photographer whose name will be included below each photograph. The Palestinian Museum media team will provide the necessary equipment and supervision. The volunteer photographer must be able to be present at the times and dates of scheduled major events, which change monthly per the Museum programmes.

Filmmaking

Experienced volunteers are offered a unique opportunity in the field of videography to work on editing the visual content of films and videos produced by the Museum. Reception volunteers interact directly with the Palestinian Museum’s visitors by welcoming them, giving time, attention, and directions, helping explain the Museum’s exhibitions and programmes, and directing them to the nearest staff member as needed. Reception Volunteers’ responsibilities include providing the necessary support during various periodic activities, organising the Museum’s ingoing and outgoing calls, and maintaining the reception area throughout the day to welcome the public, whether in terms of lighting, availability of publications, and more.

Media
Media

Media Volunteers assist in many tasks, such as collecting media clippings, combining media coverage items, updating contact lists, supporting the local promotion of our activities, periodically updating the Museum’s website, uploading content when needed, and preparing posts and short videos to be released on our social media platforms.

Volunteers should have a high degree of proficiency in both Arabic and English and native-level or bilingual working proficiency in English for volunteers looking to translate into English.
